Learn directly from your hosts about the traditions they
continue to share across generations.
The visit also includes a short trail walk of approximately
15 minutes through the surrounding natural environment.

Nestled within a private rainforest reserve just outside
Panama City, the Sloth Sanctuary is dedicated to the rescue,
rehabilitation and conservation of Panama’s native wildlife.
Managed by the Pan-American Conservation Association (APPC),
it provides care for two- and three-toed sloths, toucans,
monkeys, coatis and other rainforest species.
Accompanied by knowledgeable guides, explore shaded jungle
trails while learning about the sanctuary’s conservation
efforts, the fascinating lives of sloths and the challenges
facing Panama’s wildlife.
The sanctuary also features a butterfly habitat, a colorful
frog exhibit and a collection of native orchids, offering
a wonderful introduction to Panama’s biodiversity.
This is an ethical conservation experience, not a zoo.
Animal welfare comes first, and direct contact with animals
is not permitted. The visit lasts approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.
You will be notified in advance and fully refunded if the minimum
is not met. The order of visits may vary according to confirmed
admission times and operating conditions.

Phenomenal experience. Tour was well-planned and executed. Guide was extremely knowledgeable about indigenous culture and traditions, and of course, the experience of the Embera people sharing even one day was transformative. I highly recommend this tour.
