More to explore in El Valle

El Valle has much more to offer. Any of the activities below can be swapped in or added to your tour — contact us with your reservation number and we’ll adjust your booking accordingly.

La India Dormida

One of El Valle’s most iconic hikes. The trail leads through lush forest to a ridge that, when viewed from the valley, resembles a sleeping indigenous woman — a silhouette deeply tied to local legend. Rewarding views of the entire valley await at the top.

Square Trees Trail

A short nature walk to see one of El Valle’s most unusual natural curiosities — the square-trunked trees (Quararibea asterolepis), found almost nowhere else on earth. A quirky and memorable stop that surprises every visitor.

Piedra Pintada

A walk through the jungle to a volcanic stone featuring pre-Columbian petroglyphs — the largest and most popular of its kind in El Valle. The symbols’ meaning remains debated: a map, religious symbols, or a harvest calendar. An enigmatic and fascinating detour.

Orchid Conservation Center (APROVACA)

Over 100 orchids native to Panama, including the Holy Spirit orchid — Panama’s national flower and one of the rarest in the world. Also features Vanilla orchids, Slipper orchids, Oncidium, and dozens of miniature species. An incredible place to learn about Panama’s rich flora.

El Níspero Zoo

One of El Valle’s most popular attractions, with over 90 animal species including monkeys, toucans, ostriches, and jaguars. A great option for families with children.

Amphibian Conservation Center (EVACC)
